I really love these shampoo bars, but castor oil or castor bean seems to be too heavy for my hair. Would you consider not putting that in these? **AVNS Response: Hi Michelle, it actually could be the "free oils" in the Jojoba Conditioning bar that is weighing your hair down. The Jojoba bar is our most moisturizing bar, and many customers use it as a conditioner because of the extra oils in the bar which are not turned into soap. We have "free oils" In all our soaps, but the Jojoba silk bar has more than the others, that's why it can easily weigh normal to find hair down if too much is used. Please reach out to us so we can discuss further. Thank you!
Will definitely order again.
It is great being able to buy samples, and even the samples are good-sized. I tried "grey hair," which was wonderful on my hair but smelled like patchouli (yuck to me). This would be my new go-to conditioner if it was available without the patchouli smell. I also tried "pink lemonade," which smells pretty good but isn't as well suited to my hair type (fine and dry).
Never going back to bottles again. Thank you!
Since I've been using the shampoo bars my head no longer itches like it was, and with the very first wash, my hair rinses out squeaky clean and no longer feels like I didn't rinse all the soap out so I need to rinse it again, I absolutely love it and the choices of scents, I have also recommended them to my friends.
They all are amazing!!
Love these shampoo bars!!! I really don't need conditioner. So glad I have these a chance
Shampoo samples are a great way to try out the many options available from Apple Valley. The difficult part is trying to keep the samples organized so you know which ones you are using. There is a list of the samples in order, but once you open the package and take out a sample, it is difficult to keep straight. I thought I would the time to put each sample in a small plastic storage bag and wrote its name on a piece of paper and put it inside the bag. I did this until about 2/3 were done, but then the cellophane packaging tore and the remaining samples got mixed up. I tried to identify them by color or fragrance, but couldn't do that for all. Also, unless you hit on a sample that blows you away, you will end up using many samples and not remembering exactly how well you liked them. So then I started writing down what I thought about each one and that helped. Ironically, one of the free samples, sent with an order turned out to be one of my favorites, Latte Brunette, and I ordered it. I still have many samples. It will take you a long time to use them all up. Overall it is well worth it if you take the time to keep them organized.
This is a great way to try shampoo bars. The scents are lovely, the bars suds up like crazy, and my hair feels great. I don't know why I didn't try these sooner
